Here is an idea for a diorama i had for years, but now i am ready to try it. (maybe)
A long column of US vehicles, maybe a mile in length. Some vehicles traveling down the road some pulled off to the side.
This would be made up of 12 to 20 seperate dioramas in a single line, inter-connected by tongue-groove bases. Displayed along my basement wall at a height to keep my cat from jumping up to.
Of course this would mean building a lot of the same vehicles, but that's okay because I don't plan to do this over a weekend either.
But what the idea I want to convey is the amount of men and materials of the US Army. And dioramas of combat I never really cared for as much as dioramas of men at rest or moving from one place to another.

Rufus,
Scary! I had that exact idea about 12 years ago. I still think it's a great way to do a MEGA diorama in phases. The nice thing is no one will ever really know when it's done except you!

The scary dio I wanted to make (still do) is the top of the Nimitz in 1/72.

Brian,
Somewhat off-topic, but I have an old FSM somewhere that has an article about a guy building a 1/72 USS Enterprise complete with planes. I wonder if he ever finished it?

Probably not... Just think of painting the same scheme 20 or 30 times!!!

Or painting the deck! My nephew is on the Benjamin Harris (I think that's the name of the Aircraft Carrier) they rotate the painting detail. That has got to be boring!! Like what hue of grey should we paint today??

Of course like I mentioned before, it's a dream of mine. And my wife (the boss) has afew other projects she rather see me build first. Like the bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, installing a new heating system, then spring is coming so there's all the outside projects too.
Oh, here's another question, where do you guys display your finished models or dioramas? I keep my finished projects in my wine cellar!
