Does anyone here have any experience with the big Eduard Photetch kit for the LAV-25?

Also- is there a good source of info on the LAV-25?

I just won the Eduard LAV set for the mortar carrier, so I have no first hand knowledge regarding the quality and usability.

R.P. Hunnicutt's latest book, Armored Car: A History of American Wheeled Combat Vehicles, is probably the premier volume on the LAVs and even includes information about the upcoming Styrker LAV prodigy.

I used what I could of the Eduard LAV-25 PE on my LAV-AT, and I don't recall any problems. I don't do any kind of preperation and it super glues on el pronto. I also have the Eduard PE set for the LAV-M that I'll get to some day.

Well, I guess I was a bit vague...

Is the Eduard kit worth the cost & how much of the interior is included?

TIA

You can go to their site at either www.eduard.cz or www.eduard.com and type in LAV into the search field. All their LAV sets pop up and you can access the instruction sheets by clicking on the words "Instruction Sheet" (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). I usually print them out to see what the parts are. Real good reference in deciding what detail sets to buy.

Sabot-
I've used that resource as well... Its'a really neat feature of their site!

Problem is the LAV Instructions will not open or download in openable format to my CPU. They are corrupted .pdf files.

For what its' worth I have been digging for info on the turret hatches- and they are WAY off. Way too small, & the wrong shape.

Now begins the fun part (said with a note of sarcasm) redoing the turret roof by the hatch area. Figure to build new section, cut old one out, graft new one in, make new hatches...sheesh! Problem is once you know something is WRONG it is virtually impossible to just let it ride!

I just downloaded the LAV mortar carrier a few days ago. Sometimes when I have troubles on one machine (like the one at work) I have better luck using my lap top or home PC.

I have run across ones that were impossible to download, but they usually work a few weeks later (SU-85 and T-62 come to mind).

I know what you mean about the hatches. I was all set to open them up some more, but I got into the build and finished painting it and totally forgot about the hatches. I even had a crew for it. I might try to still open them up more and just touch up the paint around the opening.
As far as the photo etch set. The set cotains the screen that goes between the turret basket and the troop compartment . It also has seat belts for the troop seats. A majority of the set is for the exterior.
