I have purchased and received the Hobby Fan kit HF-016 M9 ACE 1/35 Armored Combat Earthmover. It is a full resin kit and seems on fist look over to be a decent kit. I am not however a fan of the resin track sections. I have been searching the forum and online for some tracks that are either individual pads of metal or plastic or even a good vinyl set. Amy help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also some nice PE detail parts would not be nad either.
Thanks
Mike

I believe the M9 tracks are specific to this vehicle. They are visually similar to M41 or M2/M3 Bradley tracks (Center guide, single pin, rubber padded steel) but they are narrower (18" vs 21")...

Hmmm, I was afraid that they might be a lone type. Was hopeful they shared the same size and style of another that I could adjust the amount of pads in the set. I really do not like the resin sections that are in the kit, but if I have to I will make it happen.

Mike:
M9 ACE Track (image from Prime Portal) are "flanged" to allow for better traction when pushing dirt:
M2 Bradley cast track sections do not have the "flanges" (image from Prime Portal):
Also notice that the ends of the track link have round, flaired portions of different diameters, where the Bradley tracks have "straight" ends that are longer and all one diameter.
I hope this helps...

What I don't like about resin track lengths is that they are difficult to curve around drive sprockets and iddlers however if memory serves me right the Hobby Fan M9 ACE kit has those "curved" portions moulded integrally with the sprockets/idlers, so there shouldn't be any problems?
Cheers,
Christophe
