Ok, so the thread about the Academy Tigers brought mine out of indefinate hiatus.

But I'm still stalled at the stage of installing step 15, installing the horizontal B2, the vertical K3 and the upper hull plate assembly. Which is where I was when I put it away.

Looking at the instructions it seems like the upper hull should sit on top of the lip of the vertical K3, but then the upper hull does not fit down into the sides if it goes that way.

If the upper hull is butt jointed against the vertical, then the upper hull will sit flush into the hull sides.
BUT this leaves a large "lip" across the top of the vertical, above the level of the rest of the upper hull?

I have ZERO Tiger references and am just wondering if this second, butt jointed, method is correct.

Thanks
Mike

The front end of the Tiger's upper hull had a very prominent "lip" as you describe.

I have been working on the early version of the kit and it fit together just fine... the instructions are probably just a bit vague as to how it assembles.

Tim,
Digging through the general panzer references last night I found only one !! picture that shows this area from above/behind. Maybe it was taken from the top of the turet, I don't know, but it shows this lip.

Problem solved, thanks for the confirmation.
Mike
