After building "Bad Mofo in Iraq," I'd like to do a second M1A1 with the New Jersey National Guard tanks. Anyone have photos?

New Jersey never had M1A1s. Our last tanks were slick M1s with bustle racks in 3 color NATO cammo. After 9/11 the Jersey Guard focused on Homeland Security missions and Gitmo. When they deployed to Iraq they went in HUMVEES. The last armor battalion 2/102 merged with the 117th Cav to become a super scout battalion. I was a tanker in the Jersey Guard from 1982 until 2003. If you do a NJ M1A1 tank it will be a what if, unfortunately.

Thanks Tom & Frenchy. Guess I'll have to think of something else to do another M1A1, LOL! Sometimes Jersey isn't the right way to go ('course I could do a Humvee).
And thanks, Tom, for your service to our country.

Thanks Bill it was an honor to serve. That is not my tank in the mud. It takes buying a lot of beer to live down something like that. I'm going to modify a old Tamiya M1 to build one of my tanks. I have built M48s, M60s and M1s for guys from my unit but haven't done one for me yet.

Thanks, Frenchy, I knew you could do it!
Now, what's the best Humvee kit and does it need AM stuff?

Tamiya M1025 kit (the M1046 kit would be suitable too) + Legend Production "M1151 Humvee Conversion set" (LF1194) should get you started
At least you'll need to add a second DUKE antenna on the front..
You can take a look at Pascal Bausset's build log of his M1151 :
