which PE set is the best for tam. late panther g? Aber or Eduard?
did anyone hear about lianroar accessories

Does aber (ab35024 Panther G Detail)
come with sideskirts?

Is there a crane or workshop kit of any manufacturer ?
once italeri had one but it is oop right now.

Thanks

I have not built a Panther yet, so I can not give you advise on which set (Eduard or Aber) is best.

On this site they usually show an image of the articles they sell...

According to this site, the sideskirts seem not to be included, but I am confident that there are others who now this for sure.

Verlinden has a conversion for the Italeri Opel Blitz into a workshop.

I also know there are two conversions around for the FAMO, one with the prototype crane, and one with the production crane.. see www.panzer-modell.de" TARGET="_blank"> www.panzer-modell.de for images. Go to "Bauberichte", then to "Archiv", then scroll down a bit over halfway down, and then there are two articles written by Carsten Gurk. They are only in German though.

Of other conversions I do not know.

Deadman,
Depends on what you want out of your photoetched set and how comfortable you are working with etch.

Aber is sick, like you have to be psychotic to use ALL the parts. For example the Panther set inscludes 47 teeny tiny bicycle chain links to make you own working barrel travel lock chain!
But there are a lot of very nice assemblies in there, the periscopes and the track hanger brackets are great!

Eduard is solid and useful set, more reasonable for the average etch user. I find I use almost all of the eduard sets these days. But often want you to carve away kit detail to use etched parts. They also have a website www.eduard.cz where you can search and see images of the parts and the parts on a kit. Also download copies of the instructions in PDF format.

Aber makes a set with fenders and skirts, the older Eduard set had seperate fenders.
The Aber skirt hangers are better than the old Eduard ones.

as for which aber set comes with fenders, I'll have to dig out the VLs catalog, their website is no help. There is a set that has skirts and fenders in addition to teh etchedy madness.

Just remember, you don't HAVE to use all the parts in an etched set.

By crane/workshop do you mean Bergepanther? Italeri's is out of production, there was a G model based one from the folks in hong kong.. the name escapes ma at the moment..
But pricey!!

Tiger model folks do the turret rooftop jib boom to fit onto the pilzen and is VERY nice!

drop me a Pm if you have more Q's, I'm sort of a Panther fanatic these days.

I can recomend the Edaurd PE for a average modeler as well, I have used it, it will make the Tamiya model shine without all the work of the Aber set. Aber is the way to go if you really want to Super-detail the kit.

If you meant the rooftop crane, I have the Tiger produced one as well. It is VERY nice, as mentioned.
If you meant a conversion for a Bergepanther, then expect to pay big $$$...best bet is to go onto eBay and look for a OOP Italeri one.

and you can look over the Aber stuff at http://www.greatmodels.com

Hi Deadman,

Here are some items u want :

Atak Model #35006
Czech Master #35002
Verlinden #1259
Eduard #35373 Vertical Patt.
Eduard #35393 Horizontal Patt.

I have seen all of these and i'm working on Pzkfw IV Ausf.J of Tamiya nowadays, that comes with Eduard zimmerit Set.
I can say it's wonderful, very thin but visible. It's the first time i use Eduard set and it's highly suggested IMHO.

U may check and compare them at www.greatmodels.com

Hi Deadman,

I have the old eduard etch set for my Panther G (which I havent' started yet).. but after using the ABer set for my Jagdpanther, I think I"m gonna spring for the ABer set... a lot nicer.. but as other's said.. a lot more time consuming....

And I agree with Peter... definately get the Eduard Barrel.. that is sweet!!!

I have to disagree here, the "Late" G's were produced after the discontinuation of Zimmerit and I am not aware of any pics of a late, read as chin mantlet, flame dampening exhausts and crew compartment heater 'tower' on the rear deck with Zimmerit coating.

When the Eduard etched zimmerit set for the late G came out I emailed back and forth with the developer of the set and he said they knew that the late G's did not have zimmerit but the set was intended for the hypothetical DML 'paper panthers'.

But I am not the Uber Panther Experten here and if anyone has pics of a late G with the features listed above, it's news to me and I'd love to see it.

thank you guys for the very useful information
i have field workshop diorama in mind

i think i gonna use a bergetiger for the crane (is there any time frame collisions?)
and i have a kubelwagen and maintenance set and some workshop tools
verlindens or custom dioramics has a workshop ruin and also i am thimking about 10 or more figures.

I first thought getting a opel blitz and verlinden workshop conversion maybe i will still do it not sure or a 3 ton crane for blitz.

Any more ideas?

I need to look to my photo folders to see if i have late panther.

Thanks,

If I am remembering correctly, the Bergetiger was a one-off and was located in Italy.
Other than that, sounds good!

if my memory serves me correctly 3 damaged tiger1's are converted to bergetiger and given the designation of 181

What time frame and place i should put this diorama?
I have a panther g late (tamiya) kubelwagen and a bergetiger or another workshop option

Where should this moment be, ardennes or berlin or italy?
