Hi Juan,
I had a long discussion about prices with a couple of the AM suppliers when I was down at Duxford. It's a case of value for money, getting good quality stuff. If you compare the price of many of the AM products set against the price of this set it is actually excellent value.
I'd agree it is not cheap as my bank account can testify too, but if you factor in the development time and cost, the fact that these sets will only appeal to a limited amout of builders and the overall quality of the kit and contents then it kinda changes the context.
This kind of conversion is something special, a one off build, it also provides a template for attempting you're own scratch builds. It is very much a personal choice at the end of the day.
Just for info Graham has several more of these kits in the Pipeline:
M4A1 full Interior
M4A4 Sherman Firefly full interior (finally a 17pdr breach)
and for those who only want part interior; nearly ready is a basic update set to be used with any Sherman kit and it features a simplified version of the driver and co-drivers position.
For the Tasca kits I'd shop around, there seems to be a vatiation in price, I got mine on the expensive end direct from Tasca but I have since seen them cheaper, which is Murphy's law.
One other thing to bear in mind is the exchange rate, that can impact on price also.
5 years ago I would have agreed with you, now I look at things differently, but I still look for value for money and this set stands up well on that account when compared with many of the other AM offerings around.
Hi Matan,
Murphy's law!!
Cheers guys
