That's a really nice lookin' Stuart!
I love the stowage. The barrel is particularly nice, as the blue really adds a nice touch of color.
Here's a novice question: What's with all the sandbags? I see them all over the place on builds. Did they stop small arms from ricocheting all over the place? Either way, great job on those, too! I hope to be able to build something this nice one day.

Another one of Randy's masterpieces.

I agree that the kit is a gem, built one as a recec stuart a long time ago. Your stowage looks great and the barrel adds a nice bit of color. Did you use the vinyl tracks?
Your dio on the other thread looks great too, by the way. I can imagine it would look good with some mountains in the background.
Cheers!
Stefan

Thank you Matt, Anthony, Bodeen and Joe, I am glad you like it

Justin, Thank you and I am no expert on sandbag armor but it sure seemed to be used alot by the allies.
Hello Stefan, thank you, my friend, it was fun to do a model that did not take me months to complete

Yes they are the vinyl tracks, I think they are too long!
Thanks Pat!

Great Stuart! The eyes on the tarp are too good to actually be miniature. How'd you do that?
BTW, I just put the AFV Club 3-bar cleat tracks on a Tamiya M5, and they're too long also.

Randy,
Just saw this and am stunned by how grewat it looks! Wow!
Justin, the sandbags seen on so many tanks were a desperate attempt to improve the armour especially against hollow-charge weapons like the Panzerfaust that were most destructive if they could contact the hull directly. How effective they were is a subject of much debate - General Patton disliked the practice so much he got his workshop folks to add cut-up armour plate to tanks in his army instead. This is the same reason why the Germans added skirts to their Panzer IVs.

I love how hap-hazard the stowage is thrown on the back and rigged down. With the weathering it has the look of a tank that has seen some miles. Fantastic job!

Hello Roman, Thank you and I prefer to use ink washes instead of oils. They dry much faster and it works for me

The brand I use is 'Citadel' by GamesWorkshop.
Hi Tom, Glad you like it and thanks for the info on sandbags

Hello Matan, Thanks for the kind words and I used paper for the tarp. Will try post up a pic as it is not the normal stuff.
Thank you Juankar

Hi Warren Glad you liked it!
Thanks Ernie, The camo netting is just medical guaze and strips on paper.
Hi Brandon, Thank you!
As Juankar noted, I did put this on a base. If you are interested it is in the dio section called 'the Ridge'

never used those washes, do you put a coat of varnish before using them? any special thinner to use with? do you use other product of games workshop for scale models?

Hello Roman, I do use a clear coat after paint. My personal choice is 'Purity Seal' from Games Workshop. A nice smooth flat finish. I also like their 'Chaos Black' as a primer. I use both of these products in a rattle can. Both go on very thin and dry quickly. Also less cleaning of the airbrush

I do greatly thin the ink washes with water and build up to the look I want.
Vallejo also has a line of inks.

I do use Games Workshop line of paints. They are great for brush painting and thin with water. Have never tried to shoot them thru the airbrush.
Hope this helps

yeah, I have ordered a box of GW washes today:) I am new to modelling and interested in all technologies. I have acrylic washes from Vallejo, but their are limited in colours.
Do you need to protect GW washes with varnish or smth after all?
Have you tried their green modelling putty also?

Hi Roman, I do not do any clear after the washes, do not handle it much at this point. I do believe the gamers do use the purity seal as a last coat to protect their finishes.
Have not tried the putty, let me know if you do. My LHS only carries the Squadron product.
