I am putting the paint onto a Hobby Boss AAVP-7 and the guidelines say to use Model Master pale green 4739. When applied over a black undercoat, it looks OK, but seems too light when compared to photos of actual vehicles. And if applied too thick (i.e., by brush) it looks waaaay too light.
First question: is it the right color green paint?
Second question: is there any difference between USMC OIF tricolor camo and USA tricolor?
I know I could break down and use Tamiya NATO green if need be.

The USMC uses the same 3 colors; Forest Green, Military Brown, and Black; for NATO 3-tone camo as the US Army. I like to use Testors Model Master enamels and I use Medium Green, Field Drab, and Flat Black. I agree that the Pale Green is too light.

Thanks, Gents. This saves me agonizing over making the match.

Gino, this site shows the Medium Green and Field Drab as both green. I know they are acrylics and not enamels, but am I missing something?

Not sure what that color is supposed to be. The Field Drab is definitely a brown tone in the enamels. Those are the three colors I always use for NATO camo.

OK....you can use...Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green....or PolyScale 505354 NATO Green. I am not sure of the correct match on MM Acryl. It looks like the Field Drab you showed...Gino knows the same color in enamel dries browner...
I use acrylics and mostly Tamiya so it is not a problem. I do have a good mix of MM Acryl and PS paints also. IMO.....but the Tamiya and start spraying!! If you want a Testors product...buy the PS...it is the "same" as MM Acryl

Thanks, Gents. Seems the Tamiya is the easiest solution. Much obliged all around.
