Here's a few pics of my most recently completed dio, a Dragon Orange Box Stug III with part of a Mini Art Ruined Garage forming the backdrop:

Very nice. Wouldn't want to be around when one of those propane tanks get hit though...

Wow, nothing like having some dry oxygen packed nicely in front of you for a firefight!
You have a very nice diorama here John, thanks for sharing.

Great looking stug and scene... and of course the figs!

Nice scene John. Personally Id have the gas tubes closer to the building and maybe a bit more weathering on them, as they look quite new. Considering they are thrown outside an intact building, they muct be unwanted/old/used/etc.
The hands on the crouching figure ... are they painted to be gloves or have you forgotten them (see second last image)?
You made a great job on the snow at ground level ... very realistic ... but then theres no snow on the rubble in front of the stug.
Sorry for nit-picking ... this is a great dio with both composition and amount of nice detail on display, and little touches like these, can make a big difference.

I'm shocked!!! In a happy way of course What i great dio. I love the details and the paint job. Only the hands look a little weird in my opinion.
One other thing, the transport pallet wasn't used before and during the war at least not untill the Americans entered Europe.
Just my 2 cents
I hope you will create more of these beauty's

Thanks for all the comments guys you are too kind.
The figures were actually painted by someone else, I just can't get away with paiting figures no matter how hard I try, I am in awe of anyone who can paint as well as this guy does. The crouching figure is supposed to have gloves on hence the way it is painted.
Frank: I know exactly what you mean about the gas tanks - I did try some weathering but just couldn't get a look I was happy with. There is snow on the rubble at the front but, as it is bicarb of soda sprinkled on loose some of it has fallen of as the dio is moved - easily fixed though
Johan: Didn't know that - that's my something new learned for today...

I think this is an absolutely brilliant diorama and it's so well represented. For me I love the weathering on the stug it makes it look properly 'lived in'. As for the the acetylene/propane tanks, my idea would be to maybe have them rigged to blow as some kind of ad-hoc anti tank trap left behind by partisans. But hey that's just my 2cents worth and it might just be completely impracticable. Anyway, Kudos to you sir for you've created a fantastic piece of art that I genuinely appreciate for it's aesthetics

Cheers Andrew,
I've now moved the propane cylinder from in front of the Stug and stacked it against the door next to the other one...

Very nice build. The short gun Sturmgeschutze rarely get the attention of the long barreled variants, yet they were very important early in the war. I really like the degraded winter cammo scheme.
The lighting also brings a nice authenticity to the photos.

Excellent diorama and fantastic face painting skills. Sometimes you see these really well made models but the figures and particularly the faces are mediocre. For me, this is what seperates a very good diorama from a truly fantastic one.

Yo John,
Nice looking diorama! Nice story...there is a good balans!
For a nice contrast you could just above the door of the factory paint a heavy fading sign with the name of the factory or something like that.
Nice work.
