Other than

I have not found much out there for combat or museum photos of the 3.7cm Flak in a ground mount, and fewer still showing the full set of shields mounted.

I'm finishing off the Trumpeter stand alone kit in a feeble attempt to get my building mojo jumpstarted, but am having a little trouble figuring out the reasonable amount of wear and tear on the gun/shields and where.

Prime Portal is little help, my standby Dishmoodel let me down too, and google only delivered the above link.

It looks like the entire gun is well, um , gunmetal colored and the mount is painted.

Anyone know of modern pics or period photos online? The 9th reenactment society photos are copywrited and the couple of pics online are distance shots.

The pics from the Inidian Military Musuem are also protected.
Did any AMPS folks take a ton of pics they're willing to share?

Mike, have you tried searching Google Images Flak 37? It even has the ability to just show images full size without the rest of the Web page. The Indiana Military Museum pictures of the Flak 37 can be displayed full size; not the smaller format that appears on the Web page.

I'm doing the Maco Flak 43 and used this process to research my build. From what I have seen most of these 37mm guns appear to have their barrel and receiver unpainted (ie-gunmetal).

Just a few Flak 36 manual pics here :

IIRC, the Flak 36 is visually very close to the Flak 37 (different visors)...

Google image searches are odd like that..
many of those image links , including the build ups of the tamiya 7/2 with the flak did not come up in my inital search.

Still having no luck saving pics from the Indiana Museum, but I am able to print the full sized ones.

There is a build over on Planet armor where they guy plops one down onto a Panther, but I don't care for his overly distressed finish.

I picked up the stand alone kit of the Trumpeter Flak 43 as well last weekend. It's next on vacation.

Glad I saw some of those pics linked to above, I would have thought the pivot point cover (caross the top of the barrel) was also painted the same color as the rest of the mount. But from those pics, it looks to be gunmetal as well.

Thanks
Mike
