Greetings,
I was wondering how many members would like to take part in creating a photo database of Soviet/Russian armor?
What I'm thinking is, I can set up an online database of vehicles by type, model, nationality, etc. Members/donors submit accurately identified photos, they are filed, and anyone (open source) could use the database as a reference.
An example of the filing system would be like this:
| T-55| | T-55AM| | East Germany|
Members would provide caption information such as specific model details, place and date of photo, etc....
I'm also thinking about complimenting this with additional information, maybe by nation such as a break down by country of each type of Russo/Soviet vehicle/tank they have, number in service, when they were obtained, etc....
If enough hard corps fans are willing to take part I'd be willing to manage such a resource. Of course all of this would be open source (free to all users).
Rob

Hi Rob
I've got numerous walkaround images of various AFV's, IFV's and other things that I took myself from my many visits to Belarus.
I'd be happy to help out with such a resource.

It's going to take me some time to set up but once done I'll need experts (such as you) to submit and identify photos.
I'm hoping once I get a site going it gets a tsunami of photos of Russo/Soviet tanks and softskins from around the world. My main interest is in Soviet tanks and APCs (T-54/55/62 and BTR-60s) in Africa and the Middle East with a special interest in the Horn of Africa.
Do you travel to Belarus often? I may actually be in the market for a GAZ-69B (1:1 scale) in the near future.

cool idea! I'd be happy to submit photos from AFVs at the Parola museum although I think lots of other people have posted photos of the same vehicles on other websites.

Hi Rob yes I travel to Belarus often usually at least once a year. My wife is from Minsk so I often go to visit family. Actually my father in law works at the MAZ plant building the trucks there and has done for many years he went there after he left the Soviet Army.
I've been considering building one of the large MAZ kits in 1/35, and he's all the walkarounds Id need! :-)
