Hi everybody,
I am building a Renault UE that has been converted to an Infantery Schlepper (Mirage Hobby kit). It is a rather obscure vehicle, but that's why I like it so much.
This is an example (from prime portal):
I have read that these vehicles were used for (airfield) security purposes, but what kind of crew would drive these vehicles? Is it luftwaffe, wehrmacht or even panzer-crew?
And were these mini-tanks used in France?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Jelger

For a Luftwaffe based crew you could start with Dragon's 16th Luftwaffe Field Div Figures (6241). Maybe use one or two to base the crew on and the remainder for support infantry. Maybe have them checking out a disturbance on the airfield's perimeter or something.
I still have nightmares about the Mirage UE. My example was trash. Bad molding, missing parts, warped....and the tracks...oh those brittle tracks tracks. It sat in its box half built for almost a decade. I ended up tossing it in the dustbin after I got a copy of the Tamiya kit. All the problems were workable but man I just had enough of it.
Anyway, good luck with your build and hope you fair better.
