How do real tankers attach their CIP panels, in particular on an M1A1 Abrams. How would you do this in 1/35 scale?

The turret front CIP's are held on with velcro. That's what you see as the dark corners on those panels.
The turret side and rear panels consist of the panel itself and a frame from which the panel slides out vertically. This allows the CIP to be slid out and reversed (and the plain rear side exposed) when not in use.
