Ohh, nice little build!
But for "in transport-position" the small rod atop the barrel is removed.
It can be seen only during firing.
I also built one, some months ago... white-washed and in a snowed landscape in firing-position.
greetings and thanks for sharing!

Nice job Trifon. I like the weathering. Have you any plans for something to pull this?

Thanks for your comments guys!
Soeren: you mean remove the recuperator piston rod? I would think that is an intrinsic part of the recuperator piston assembly... Are you sure? I'll go thru my refs tonight, if you have something please post it - it's an easy fix!
Frank: so good to see you! Yes, I bought this kit specifically for my Trump Sd.kfz.7 to pull and ended up building it first (I've been going thru an artillery phase lately! ). So, as soon as I finish my DML Jagdpanzer IV L/70(V), I'm taking a small break from armor and cracking open a Hasegawa Hellenic Air Force RF-4E that I picked up the other day!!! Then I'm going for the sdkfz 7 and........ I'm thinking it might be time for a diorama once again.... we'll see!
Thanks again!

Soeren, never mind, I found it! Yes, you are right, the rod comes off!
I'll post a couple of pics after I perform the operation...

Bob,
From what I've realized while building and what I've read the kits has:
wrong carriage dimensions (between the wheels I think) which is no biggie imho but it leads to inability to lock the cradle between the "legs" plus the fact that the locking mechanisms on them are molded on open I think... badly detailed breech block, some flash, a missing cylinder in the front right under the barrel (which I could not see in any of my refs so I didn't build a replacement)... also some rivet patterns are supposedly wrong but who's counting, eh????

So after Soeren correctly pointed out my mistake regarding the recuperator piston rod, I went back to my refs (seriously this time ) and corrected my error. Also I found that in all pics of this (or the 15cm) gun being transported the breech is covered, so... I covered it up too.
Comments welcome!
Special thanks to Soeren!

Ohh, I was to slow to take a look for your update.
This one looks better!
Also the red-white rods are great. On my kit I left them only grey/white, which I saw on the Dragon kit. (same color as the gun)
The problem of Trumpeterīs kit is... itīs for "in travel-position" only.
For this, one have to fold up the 2 small hooks (on the trail-arms), which lock the barrel-parts. (to make it stable) (parts C10 and C11)
But these are not correct aligned on the kit to fit to the barrel-part/ gun-cradle.
I also had this problem, as I made some test-photos of both -in travel- and -firing- modes.
From the beginning, I decided to -firing- mode and took a boxart of another kit (Ace 1/72) as a reference.
greetings and thanks...

Soeren,
I have just completed this kit and noticed the same thing.
In the Dragon 150mm kit there are two sets of these hooks, one set wound out for travelling, where they locate with the gun cradle, the other wound in for firing. The Trumpeter kit instructions lead you through to a travelling mode but doesn't provide the correct parts, so I will also have to have it in firing mode, which means a base to bury the spades in! Also you would really need the perforated plates from the limber attached to the spades, and the hand spikes (the long rods on the sides of the carriage with flats on them) inserted into the plates which project from the rear of the carriage legs at right angles. Since I have already assembled these and painted the kit, it will have to be a sort of half and half - in the process of being set up or taken down. Interesting info about the recuperator rod, I wasn't aware of that either.
To go to Trifon's model, I like it very much, just a nice level of weathering. Incidentally, the parts that have been painted red and white are the hand spikes, the Trumpeter instructions are wrong here too. The parts that should be painted thus are the parts beneath them. You will notice that they have a pointed end to be hammered into the ground. They are aiming stakes. The hand spikes are for large aiming changes, i.e. moving the whole gun around.

Hi readers , If you want to see my work...
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/129752#1074354
In this build, I made some small "operations" and added one small part on the front side of the carriage of the mainwheels.
But in my actual build I have a lot of additions.
Yes, the aiming-stakes were left clean by me... a sad thing. But painting them now would be bad for the model, so I had the idea to remove them.
But also this operation would be bad for the model.
Some months ago, one of the main wheels broke away.
But one idea was to add one civilan figure, perhaps with a wooden wagon "farmers cart". (by masterbox)
greetings...
