How easy is it to convert a Jagdpanzer IV/L48 into an L/70 ?
I thought I saw a DML L/70, but I was wrong, it is an L/48... So is it easier to buy the Tamiya version and take it from there, or is it easier to use the L/48, and buy the additional roadwheels and such, in order to build an L/70
Can someone help me out please...

Harm,I think all you'll need to make that L/70 version is an L/70 barrel, say Jordi Rubio As far as I know that's all the difference Now some of the L/70 versions had steel roadwheels on the very front bogie units The first two Also some had three support rollers instead of four
I would imagine someone makes some AM steel wheels for that kit If you do go for the steel wheels, make sure to put on three support rollers per side insterad of four
Also I think that type had on a different muffler like the Panzer IV Ausf J type Hope this helps out Check any references you may have on the gun mantlet as well

Sorry, that is not the only differences.
Yes, you will need the longer gun tube, vertical exhausts and silent bloc roadwheels on the first bogie on each side. BUT:
The track for the gunsight is very different between the L/48 and the L/70. It will take a lot of removing and reworking of details and sanding to make the L/48 into L/70 fighting compartment roof.
The 4 return rollers are the early type, later versions and all L/70 versions having only 3 return rollers to simplify production. You will need to add a gun travel lock to the L/70. Also the L/70 has a fire extinguisher on the back deck . The track tool on the right front track guard of the L/48 has been removed and relocated on the L/70.
One item I am not sure about: The early L/48 had two conical MG covers on the front plate on each side of the main gun. The late L/48 and the L/70 only had one on the right side of the gun mantlet. It this kit has two you need to remove the one next to the driver's visor and fill in the holes.

PH is right, L/48 and L/70 is very very different. Best shot is to go to eBay to see if any of them is for sale, they are OOP now, and can be quite expensive.
