I'll shortly be publishing a feature on various preserved Land Rovers. As a taster, here¡s a LR in the Berlin Brigade Scheme:

Brilliant !! At least with the flatter body panels on the Landy, it 'should' be easier to mask off and paint the cam scheme on this compared to the Chieftan's ! And with plenty of Series 3 kit's out there, would be good to see one done up in this scheme.

Interesting pic - it looks like the grey is a semi-gloss, the black is a satin, and the brown appears matte.

I was lucky in that I managed to get full access to a LR Ambulance (FULL interior) not terribly unusual, but a nice subject nevertheless. Star of the photos though is a Royal Marine LR with the full waterproofing gear and the Clansman set-up...

That brown colour looks to be a bit off; shouldn't it be more of an olive green color? The colour pictures in Tankograd's British Infantry Brigade Berlin show this to be almost an exact match for Humbrol's HU155 Olive Drab. On page 61 the colour is stated as RAL 8025 Brown. From what I understand from the book, each vehicle has a specific pattern to be followed and that the paint jobs were pretty much pristine and well kept-up. The book also has a 5-view drawing of each vehicle the scheme was used on; however, the Land Rover is not covered, nor was there a picture of one in this scheme. The only Land Rover pictured was in a parade in the usual green/black scheme. There is an author's note on page 64 that states other vehicles other than those he has documented may have been camo'd in this urban scheme, even as one-off trials. Can anyone who was actually there comment? I would highly recommend this particular book (British Special No. 9001) to anyone thinking of attempting to use this scheme.
