Hello,
Long time since I have been in this forum. The "just curious" remark by me was given for the perceived fact that it seems like 1/35th scale figures are coming as frequently from Dragon. Oh believe me, when they come out with something it does peak my interest. BUT! Lately the newer items have rather bored me. It would be nice to see more M44 uniformed people to go with the Austria figure set. Maybe a set of truck or SPW/Zgkw drivers. I have avoided the other makers, except for MB because of having to do too much work to make the other companies stuff look good. And also, I loved the "Gen 2" stuff, I wished it would have continued.

Ah me, just the wishes and ravings of a lunatic

In one way I agree, the Gen2 figures were a major step forward for Dragon. On the other hand, their latest figures have detail as sharp as the Gen2 and the major advantage of having the normal parts break down. The faster build allows more time to concentrate getting the painting better.

Ears. A two piece mold split front to back cannot have any real recess for the ears. The obvious drawback of the Gen 2 split heads is a seam that must be cleaned up around the face.
Resin heads are made in flexible rubber molds that can have (limited) recesses and undercuts on all sides, which is why they are popular replacements for styrene efforts.
