Masterbox appear to have turfed a previous WIP, European Civilian; WW II Era, and seemingly plan to release the figures as part of 2 other sets, Citizenry, West European WWII Era and Citizenry, East European WWII Era

From I got into modelling until now, everytime there was a wish list, civilian figures were always high on the list. Too bad it has taken almost 10 years, but its great to finally see them come in usable poses. Great stuff Masterbox.

Thanks all for your comments. Addressing some points of discussion below (some were repeated by subsequent posters - I'll just quote the first)

AFAIK Masterbox post CAD pictures, well not for figures anyway. If they did they must have a really neat plug-in for making it look like a photo which has a lot of noise and has been over sharpened.

We always forget Preiser. While their figures may not be the quality we are used to, they're not entirely useless...

3? As I said, MB appear to have turfed (i.e. they've decided not to do it) the first set I linked to. The figures in that set have been divided up between the East and West European sets.

That's the thing with MB, isn't it? Some of the "In Progress" sets have been there how long? The US Marine set still just has the grainy, vague USMC photo with no further indication of their intent regarding the set. If they were hoping to capitalise off The Pacific like so many other miniatures manufacturers did, they've missed that one - unless they're timing it for the DVD release... or the non-rating rerun season...

I have no idea what I would do with any of these figures, but they're like that perfect specialty tool- it spends most if it's life in the toolbox, but when you do need it it's worth it's weight in gold

Although the decision to produce two 'geographically seperate' sets hadn't been taken at the time, we did run this back in April:
http://armorama.com/news/6570
The seperate style of figure was also highlighted:
What IS missing from the original report are the cows. 3567 (Eastern) includes a goat, whereas 3588 (Western) is lacking any animals...
It's also worth considering that the comments by many people on THIS site regarding the number of cows (two in each set) may have caused MBox to re-think (it isn't the first time they've made a decision based on the feedback in Kitmaker Forums)...

Rather than doing a 'generic' set with some 'one-size fits all' rural figures, the company is developing two different styles of figures - one of Eastern Europeans (Ukraine, Russia, Bielorussia etc. etc.), the other of Western Europeans (France, Belgium, Holland etc.).

The "citizens, west" are great. The style/clothing makes them (or at least the adults) useabel well into the 1960s since farming on the smaller farms where still a lot of manual stuff until then.
Now if Masterbox could next do some "teenagers with Scooter or Bicycle, 1970s/80s" that would be perfect

What was run was the report of the original set, and not the 2 new ones. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Nice to see MB listening to someone, regardless of where or who, and splitting the set. Makes it a bit more marketable.
