Hi guys,

Just wondering could the BTU-55 dozer blade be fitted to other T series MBTs, or maybe even other Soviet/Russian AFVs?
I would guess it could be fitted to the T-62 at least?
What about the likes of MTLBs or BMPs etc?
Any and all help much appreciated,
Cheers,
Glen

Hi,

T64,72,80 pics with a BTU-55 would be worth their weight in gold to me mate!
Much appreciate if you still have any?
Cheers,

While any T-series tank SHOULD be able to use any of the non-specialized add-on equipment (Mine rollers, mine plows, dozers, etc...) I do not think T-64/72/ or 80's ever got to the point of being made into engineering equipment as they were all still Catagory A and B MBT's, where the T-54/55/62's were all Cat. C and could be converted into easy to observe targets...er, I mean they could make more of them without loosing signifacnt fighting power on the battlefield. So I do not think you will find a photo of a 64/72/80 with a BTU on it.

But you could do it anyway...

Thank Roy, I forgot about those pics. That was a prototype BTU-80, never put into production.

Great picture Roy, thanks a million mate!
Apart from the dozer, the other hull changes are hard to see. Wouldn't be easy to model this beauty I guess?

There's a pic of a turretless T-62 (turret aperture on the upper hull plated over) with this dozer blade in the latest Tankograd book on the T-62.

Seem to have some kind of dozer blade mounted. BTU-55?
