Nice work dave, is that the Legends ASLAV conversion kit phase 3?
I like the dusty appearance. Its an unusual configuration though, but as Im often told almost anything goes - the side stowage bin would indicate it was fitted for bar armor, but retains the standard turret stowage bins.. not the bar armor ones - was that a choice from the Legends conversion or one from reference pictures? I think that happened in Afghansitan with some phase 3's, after Iraq. I am curious to know more about the legend kits contents (if I had to do 2 or more ASLAVs is a diorama again, that side stowage bin might be useful to make the second vehicle look a little different to the ACM bin). SOmething difficult to correct but unless I am mistaken the smoke dischargers are on the front of the turret glacis plate, not the quater panels at an angle? Double check references. Also the little bulbous lump on the side of the headlights behind the brush guard is an indicator lamp, and can be painted orange! I see you left the rear deck hatches upside down - some things are hard to fix when glued in place. Which paints did you use for the colours? were they the ones supplied in the trumpy instructions? Looks like the Trumpeter cam pattern also. very interestig model you have built. lots to absorb from it.
I must say magnificent job of the decals especially the rear " caution left hand drive" I cant see any silvering and thats a real headache to locate that one properly without interfereing with the vision port. PS if this is phase 3 (as indicated by the commanders sight, and stowage box) the vision ports should be sealed - an easy mod to do in retrospect if you like. The rear view mirrors have been removed ( no doubt by the crew??)
anyways great to see this one - had to have at least one ASLAV in the Land Down Under campaign. Can we have a couple more pictures please? (top down would be great, or any with the Conversion set parts prior to paint)
Thanks Adam

I need a little help guy's. Would anyone be kind enough to give me some references for a Aussie or Kiwi M3 Grant in North Afrika. The only paper work that I have to go by is the kits instructions re: sand and brown.

Hi Bob,
Firstly, Grants in NZ service, although it was proposed that 2 squadrons of each Armoured Regiment were to be equipped with Grants, only about 6 were used between October 1942 and 1943 for training only. From the few pics of them, they appear to be in Light Stone and Blue-Black camouflage (well worn) and no markings apart from a WD number.
Two online pics from the NZ National Archives,
Grant at NZAC training school Maadi , image numbers 13 and 14, click "Online(Go)" to view image.
As for Australia, I'm not sure they used them in NA, I do know that they used over 700 in Australia between 1942 and 1955. But may be someone from the other side of the ditch can help you on that part of the question.
cheers
David

Nice one, Stan.
The Sherman seems to "float" a little bit on the ground work on the side where the figure is. Maybe press it into the groundwork gently or remove some of the grass etc where the Sherman is going to be. Just a small detail.
Overall great build with nice weathering.

Hi guys,
I just enlisted to this great campaign and became enlistee #50.
After a longer job-related modelling break I have to get my $$$ in gear again. Being hooked by this topic and by one of the best ribbons I have seen here, I started some research where I came across the Maori Battalion.
So, now I have a „Kiwi Armour“ decal sheet and an „Universal Carrier“ kit to start with...
Cheers

Hi all,
Just started the build of the „Kiwi Carrier“. There‘s no better choice than a Tamiya kit to get into business again. Fit is like a charm up to now.
After preparing the first parts, the basic hull is assembled and primed.

I want to build „INZEBAG II“, which seems to be quite famous. Nevertheless, I couldn‘t find much reference material in the web.
As this is my first ANZAC project I‘m not decided which colours to choose - Light Stone with Dark Olive Green or Light Mud with Blue Black, which seems to be a typical Mediterranean Commonwealth scheme? Are there any experts out there? Any hint is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, cheers
