this follow up my last post, but i didnt find the way how to edit the topic name :-( sorry for new one

I am finished with Hummer. Ok, ok, ok antennas aren't still fit to place. I am working on small vignette represents anonymous street somewhere in Iraq. My starting idea was to built a road block on the crossroad next to the sidewalk. I made lamp, dragon theet and some barbed wire. I am not sure about the road color. We will see.

But my problem is road. I am not sure how to make a right colour and what to use. Maybe from grey to buff plus some pigments. Anyone can help me pls?

All I see are red "X"s and a broken link.

Hi Jiri,

The vignette is progressing well and I like the look of the Hummer, as to road colour I found this on Google :

I think it is from the siege where the sons of Saddam Hussain were killed. If you put 'Hummers in Iraq' into Google, you get a lot of good images.

All the best,

Paul

Now I can see it. It looks pretty good. For the road, most in Iraq are asphalt. I paint mine using flat black spray paint. For curbs and sidewalks, I use a mdium grey. Some curbs in Iraq alternate sections white and yellow as well. Once the base colors are dry, I layer on several dirty washes to blend them all together.

Here are a few examples.

Hope that helps.

Jiri, the Hummer looks like it and the base are coming along very well. From what I can see, I like the subtle weathering that appears evident. Thanks for sharing.
