This a stupid question I cant find a color picture but would troops stationed on a Mader III have pink piping like the tanks do

From memory they are classed as artllery and would have Red piping.
That's not a great title for your post by the way. "Correct Piping color for marder crew" would attract more answers

Foolishly I haven't checked my refs before answering but I would bet on pink for the crew of anti tank vehicles such as the Marder series. I do agree with red for the StuG series and vehicles such as Hummel and Wespe, all of which were intended as artillery support vehicles.

Most likely, Marder IIIs would be assigned to PzJgr units
rather than StuArt units... although I've seen some pics of
Marder II (not III) in use by a Heer Pz.Reg.
To add to the confusion, guys in PzJgr units can wear both
black and field grey uniforms. It depends on which unit it is.
