Do you mean go on joint combat operations or just share the same bases where they can be seen together? I know they are together at some of the larger bases, and I have heard some vets say they "served" with the British, but I did not understand that to mean they were on joint operations together; only that they ran into them in the rear areas. Good question, though, I would like to know myself if they have been together on joint combat ops.

UK and US troops have served together. They have engaged on operations together in the Helmand AofO. These ops have used for example the USMC as overwatch/blocking force whilst UK and ANSF(Afghan national security forces) have carried out clearance and consolidation phases, also US and ANSF forces have done the groundwork with the UK Joint IED Force carrying out , obviously, the IED work.
Now that the operational areas have been re-aranged there is less likelihood that there will be largish scale joint ops, but I believe that Joint IED force will be operating with US forces fairly regularly.
With the changing of the operational areas, when the US forces took over former UK areas there was the handover period, of a couple of weeks, when joint patrols were carried out to familiarise the US troops with the ground and local celebs etc...
And don't forget about Brit Specfor and US Specfor when they went after Bin Laden and his homies.

Frenchy and Jon--wonderful pics and information. I have toyed with the idea of combining US Hummers and Land Rover WMIKs together in a diorama, now can do so "legally"! Amazing what can be discovered on this site!! Thanks!!
