I'm building AFV's 251/7 and noticed they mold the vision port glass in green, while dragon does it in clear. i've never noticed a color in the refs I've looked through. Does anyone have any info or pics which might help?

I'm no expert, but I think that the green color is an illusion. I noticed it once when climbing over some piece of armor. Looking at the glass in a vision port, from the outside, thru multiple layers of glass and clear plastic into a dark interior, the glass had a green tint. Or it could just be a reflection of the OD metal all around it.

It was ordinary glass, which looked a little green due to the thickness.

The vision blocks are constructed from layers of tempered glass. Bulletproof or bullet resistant glass is made by using layers of glass sheets. Tempered glass is stronger and more durable than regular glass sheets and plate glass. Tempered glass is made by heating and then rapidly cooling the glass to induce residual compressive stresses in the surface of the glass. The glass will not break until the residual compressive stresses are exceeded. Tempered glass sheets and plate glass are designed to fracture into small fragments rather than shards, minimizing the likelihood of injury. The addition of different elements can enhance the glass properties and give it a specific color. Cutting to the chase, the vision block glass does have a slightly greenish cast.
