Hello
I've got this one 99% completed now.
I may need to do a little tidy up here and there, but its general appearance is meant to be rough, as these rail cars were built before WW2, and were more or less out of date by the time the war started, so I wanted this to look neglected and generally unloved.
I found it hard to take pictures of this little car, too bright outdoors, too dark indoors, so the shades of the paintwork vary in these pictures. The true colour is somewhere in between what you see in the outdoor/indoor pictures
I now just need to make a small base for it
Any comments welcome
cheers
Neil

Very nice Neil It truly does look used and abused. With the number of these rail vehicles you are doing, you are creating quite a railroad. I can next see you motorizing these creations and having a train full of them displayed in a motion video. N-scale locamotive internals would most likely fit in their bodies.
Cheers,
Jan

Nice work, Neil. But I have to admit, that that is even more uglier thing compared to my previous twin-turret UM 604 kit. Do you have any plans, what would be your next Unimodel kit after this?

Hi Jan
thanks Jan, I like these armoured railway things
There is probably enough room inside for a motor, its an interesting idea. A long time ago I had a working model railway layout, for now I think I'm flat out just making models !

Hi Kimmo
thanks for the comment, I agree these things are very ugly, as is the Leningrad railcar you mentioned. I could not find it anywhere in the forum, did you post pictures of it ?
about your Steyr Draisine with the bad moulding. I contacted the other guy who had one the same , and he said UM advised they were posting him out a new sprue. That was about 3 weeks ago, and he hasnt got it yet. If it doesn't arrive soon, he will contact them again. I've asked him to keep me advised of how it goes, and I'll let you know. I presume he used the email address on the side of the kit box ([email protected]) , and got his email translated into russian, as they did not reply to his emails written in english
my next rail build is UMmt 612, but I'm working on another small scale tank first.
cheers

Hi Neill.
First click "Photos" on top of this page, then choose "Currently active campaigns", scroll down the page untill you see "Letīs get small" campaign title. Click it, go to page 2 and there, on right at the bottom is two pics of my UM604 kit. Thereīs also one pic on first page from the same model, made by other modeler.
BTW: thatīs a good choice for next UM railroad kit. I have it in my stash and Iīm planning to build it too as my choice into "Eastern European steel" campaign.. ... and I also have that whole russian, type OB-3, armored train (kit 613) from Unimodel in my stash waiting..

Hi Neil,
I missed this one, you have so many things on the go. Very nice build and the paint job is first rate. Motorising them would be fun, seeing them moving on rails would give an impression of how they operated. Look forward to the next one.
All the best,
Paul

Neil,
And no I didn't miss this one! Been really busy lately but have now just gotten a little bit of time to say . . . superb! I just hope that when I put mine together it will at least look somewhat as good as yours. With all of those rivets that you managed I hardly think I will be able to come up to your standards but I will have fun trying

Hi Paul and Eddy.
thanks for the comments
Eddy the original photo is not very sharp, hard to say for absolute certain if this thing had a turret that was totally rivetted, as I modelled it, or if its was a later T-26 turret with less rivets. No one could say for absolute sure
cheers
