The price is 76 EUR each.
Ouch... So for me buying both is out of the question
But I certainly need to get at least one.

During the late seventies the Army used Dodge based civilian conversions similar to the CUCVs, I think the nomenclature was the M880 series. My unit did some training with the Utah NG and we used four of these trucks. Despite the fact that we treated them much more gently than we did our Gama Goats and M151s, after two weeks they all had problems. The troop seats on all four were broken, one wouldn't come out of 4WD, one wouldn't go into 4WD, another had the front bumper and grill fall off and a u joint on the rear drive broke on the last so we had to run with power to the front axle only. We were generally running on unimproved roads with a little slow and gentle cross country wirk. Needless to say we weren't impressed. I always wondered if the CUCVs were any better.

Biggest difference between the M880 series and the Gm CUCV units was the fuel used... The Dodges drank gasoline like there was no tomorrow, and this was a time when other tactical vehicles also used what was referred to as MOGAS, so finding the right fuel in the field wasn't too challenging. Not the case nowadays, as diesel fuel is the "coin of the realm" when it comes to fuel.

Can someone post the link to the manufacturer listing? When I hit the link by the photo, it goes to the modeller's website, and doesn't hook up with the manufacturer.

I bought them both, yes I did
here's what I got. Super clean casting and a lot of fine detail parts with decals!
I haven't fit anything together yet, but I have confidence in these kits because they look so nice

Hi
I can see possibilities here for mounting a zpu in the back of the pickup for a Lebanese civil war technical.

Nice to see the pick-up bed cast separately - it will make it easier to add a van box on the chassis.
Are you going to be doing a blog on these?
Why plan when you can react?

somtec - That would be an interesting subject build.
gcdavidson - Yeah, I plan to scratch a Utility Box Truck Bed for the pick-up. Once I get around to actually starting on these kits, I start a BLog

Hi,
Thanks for posting pics of these great little kits.
I did a short overview on these the other day (10/26/10 in the modeling in general area of this site) when I recieved mine. Unfortunately my computer skills are not good enough to post pics on this site.
They may be a little expensive for some, but it's a high quality kit. Lacking only window glass to be a 10/10 in my opinion.
Regards,
Jake

KS1,
No problem with the pics, thank you for posting them!
Now to offer my apologies to Minimanfactory & every one that read my short review for the ERROR about the window glass. After taking everything out of the box & CLOSELY eyeballing everything in the kit, low and behold hiding behind the PE set is the window glass sheet. Lets see old eyes, creeping senilty, or just plain (you fill in the word) Personally I'm going with the old eyes thing.
All that said this makes it a 10/10 resin kit in my book and again my apologies for the error.
Jake

Sometimes would need a booklet for the content only, sorry guys.
I just try to avoid the second problem, we add two bush guards to our direct buyers, In addition to the Friulmodel made part, what can be ideal of damaging the guard because of its softness, we add a laser cutted guard, it is cutted from a special paper, what needs special care, please prime it before use, we recommend Gunze surfacer.
Hope You will like them...we just release them in 1/48, it will be first available in Telford at Scale Model World.

I have to chime in with everyone else. I recieved mine last week and it is simply outstanding. The molding is fantastic. Everything in the kit is perfect. Thanks for the laser cut grille. IT is a 10!! I cannot wait to work on it!!

This thread is pretty old, but I'm gonna bump it anyway.
Just purchased the M1008 kit and plan to recreate the RATT RIG I was with in Korea back in 1988. I found the S-250 shelter but I'm not having any luck finding the PU-620/M Gen Set... So I figure I'll have to scratch build it.
Anybody have any ideas on the trailer and generators? I went ahead and got a Mutt kit that has an M-416 cargo trailer that I think can be used as the base for the PU-620. The genny's are going to have to be completely scratch built.
Wish me luck...

Just figured out that Gabor has a M-101 Trailer... Same Chassis as the PU-620 I believe! So I get to practice a bit on the Mutt...
