Hi Everyone,
As a break from my PzIV, I have done some vehicles for my wargames army. These are not finished yet, but I wanted to share the progress so far. The Panther A has Trumpeter vinyl tracks and a Dragon gun barrel. The Jagdpanther has Revell tracks and a metal barrel. The UM Marder has a metal barrel and the Stug III is an Esci with Revell sprocket and idler, tracks and return rollers. It also has a Dragon 105mm cannon and Voyager grilles.
I ,hopefully, will get them finished in the next week or so.
All the best,
Paul

Hi Paul
all of these are looking good, I like the Marder's paint scheme in particular
are you running a production line there ?
cheers

For this scale your control on the airbrush is great.
They look good so far. Keep us posted on how the details go.

Hi Neil,
Sort of running a production line, I have a lot of wargaming pieces to get done and the best way is in batches. I am pleased with the Marder as well, you always have your heart in your mouth when you start to apply the camo. You hope that the airbrushing gods will smile favourably on you, I think in the case of the Marder they did.
Thanks for the comments, all the best,
Paul

Hi Scott,
I have been practicing for a few years, but you still seem to have a lot to learn with airbrushing. One thing I know is that the airbrush must be meticulously clean to get any kind of good result. I shall be posting some of the finished items soon.
All the best,
Paul

Coming along quite well, Paul. As has been stated, the airbrushing for this scale is quite excellent. I have a few of these type of "simpler" kits in my stash and you just might have sparked an interest in my mind to give one a try. Big difference from a 200+ part Dragon kit but I am sure the quicker build time would result in more timely gratification.
Cheers,
JAn

Hi Jan,
If I have inspired you to get some more braille stuff out of your stash then I am happy.
Gotta get more folks doing braille, then the manufacturers might make something we really want. I would like to see someone producing some early war stuff, both British and German, especially the early British Cruisers (A9 and A10).
Thanks for the kind comments, all the best,
Paul

I have managed to get a few of the pieces done that I was working on as well as a few others, here are a few pictures of the results.
Hope you like them, now to get on with the rest!
All the best,
Paul

Beautiful brushing on all of those kits, Paul. What brands are the Panzer I and the PaK?

Wow Paul, very nice for this scale. Your mastery of painting is very well represented in these pieces. After seeing your work here I'm almost tempted to try out a few wargaming pieces, and I don't even play them!

Hi Jan,
The Panzer 1 is Italeri (ex. Esci), we could do with more early WWII stuff instead of the incessant Tigers and Panthers. The Pak 40 is Roden, beautiful kit, well worth getting.

Paul

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for the kind comments, I am beginning to get the hang of this airbrushing lark and I am very pleased with the results I am getting. I would recommend the UM vehicles based on the Pz 38t chassis, they are beautiful kits and always build up nicely. Give one a go, you won't be dissapointed.
All the best,
Paul

Your airbrushing came out very well, I would have just brushed armor of such a small scale by hand. I'm already a fan of the 38(t) chassis, so I may just follow your recommendation and see how it turns out.
Looking forward to seeing how the Panzer III and V chassis come out

Hi Chaps,
Some more wargaming stuff that will be battling away very soon. We are going for early war stuff as well as the late war and I am finding the panzer grey a very satisfying diversion (mainly because I don't have to hold my breath and pray while I do the late war camo with the airbrush) . Hope you like them.

Paul

Your latest additions to this thread are looking very good. It would be nice if you let us know what manufacturer makes the SdKfz 222 and the Stug. Just wondering, didn't all 222's have a coaxial MG-34?
Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan,
It's the ICM 222 and well spotted, I broke the mg off just prior to photographing! Very delicate bits on parts of the model. The Stug is the close support 105mm version. It is an Esci base with Revell tracks, sprockets and idlers (left over from a cannibalised Revell Nashorn), the Revell Pz III idlers, a spare Dragon barrel and finally the new Voyager grilles for the Pz III. I think it looks ok for a wargames piece, but not a contender for any display model.
All the best,
Paul

Hey Paul,
These models are very well made.
Did you use any kind of masking to paint them or is it completely free hand?
As for the 38t series from UM I have built 3, they are excellent.
One thing I remember though is that I had problem closing the chassis in all 3 and the tracks were just impossible to bend. The solution was to put them in hot water to get a curve.

Hi Alexander,
No masking, all entirely freehand with my trusty Aztek airbrush. I have (fortunately) not had your experience with the UM kits and I too have built three now. The other was a Bison, shown here:
I like them as kits and they produce stuff that no one else does.
All the best,
Paul

Hi Paul
great looking bunch of models, thanks for adding the Bison, I've got one of these waiting to be built.
I've made a few of these UM kits on the T38 chassis too, but more than 2 years ago, I dont recall if I had any specific build issues now, if I had any they were easily overcome, as I'd remember if they had given me any major headache
cheers
Neil
