I like the MGer, but unless they provide PE slings, one will have to scratch that detail.

Nice kit. The three wehrmacht guys seem to work well together, the four a Luftwaffe Field Division solder not a Falschirmjager (IMO), is a little random, but I like that it is included. As individual figures, if they turn out as nice as the CAD, they would make nice stand alones too. I agree with Bill, I hope there is a PE fret for the slings at least.

Slings, to me, are about the easiest thing to scratch, at least in a simple form. I think paper, or a lead foil product is better than PE anyway for a sling, as it bends much more naturally.

Thanks for that - I was rushing to publish it and something was niggling me about that figure...

The problem with making comments like "It isn't a set which is going to get German modelers going 'Wow!' ", is that you always have some git go ahead and do it May as well be me I really like this set, well based on the box-art and CAD masters.
The addition of the Luftwaffe field soldier, from the tabs he appears to be an artilleryman (?), wearing the Luftwaffe field/service dress and not cold weather gear is really unique. Apart from DML's (IMO) terrible 2cm Flak crew, I don't recall them having released many Luftwaffe figures wearing such gear. And certainly none wearing the infantry Y-straps (BTW, isn't it great the box-artist actually got the strap colours right? Luftwaffe leather straps/belts were brown).
The machine gunner is another unique looking figure. Anyone else notice the weighted angle of his belt? Why? No Y-straps. Not often we see that in figures wearing field dress. Also great to see the carry strap on the MG finally done properly in plastic.
The other 2 poses appear very natural, and the personal gear configuration looks great - very much "by the book". Of course that sort of thing isn't a big deal as modellers are quite capable of placing gear correctly anyway
I'm going to hazard a guess and say that these 4 figures are inspired by Concord colour plates from either an existing publication or publications, or forthcoming editions. Hopefully I'll remember to confirm this when home tonight.
Nice set DML - in principle

.... Luftwaffe Field Division solder ..... is a little random, but I like that it is included.
The quality of Dragon figures now means that if one or two donīt fit your idea for dioramas or vignettes, they are good enough to be stand alone figures as well (IMO). I can see the Luftwaffe figure used for this. A new head and some care and attention, he would look great!

My point exactly. This probably the first Dragon kit I have been interested in in some time (except the USMC Pelielu set which I need for a dio that is sitting stagnant.

Nope, I like the sets which are workmanlike and free of gimmicks. Quiet satisfaction rather than euphoria?

They look nice and all, but where are the Marines they promised a few months back? Nothing more than a drawing.

Great to see the Luftwaffe soldier pointing to a bullet or sharpnel dent in his helmet. He will fit in nicely in a diorama next to an AA gun with combat damage.
Thanks for the news update, Jim

Left to right of box-art:
1) Luftwaffe Obergefreiter
2) Not sure, as I think he wears slip-on shoulder camouflage straps which conceal his rank.
3) Heer Obergefreiter
4) Not sure due to angle of box-art and the CAD images being too pixilated, but the figure would be of a squad leader rank due to choice of weapon.
It's mostly academic though, as the ranks of the figures are easily changed.
