Does anyone know what to use to make tarp and covers for the storage bins on tanks and atv's. I am currently building a Merkava and I would like to put a tarp over the Storage bin in the back.

You could either use lead foil or tissue paper soaked in white glue. I personally like the tissue paper method.

Hi. In the olden days, before the advent of resin pieces, modelers folded or rolled tarps, bedrolls, and just about any kind of coverings they were trying to represent by using tissue paper, folded, rolled or in any other configuration they were trying to achieve, and then soaking it with a mix of white glue and water. Once dry, it was painted and weathered however the modeler wished it to be.

Been years since I've don this myself, but I now have an Academy M-51 that is begging for this kind of arrangement on it, so am going to give it a try myself once again. As I remember it worked real well. Give it a try and see.

Good luck and take care. sgirty

Herchealer:
I found tissue a bit touchy when wet so I tried kitchen parchment paper used for bakeing and it worked out great, and it was a lot stronger when wet. I used it to make a complete tarp for the back of my Steyr rso tractor.
Try it you might like it.

I usd both A&B Exposy Putty, rolled on thin on a piece of glass (or plastic ziplock bag) that has been dusted with talc or baby power - like using flour to roll out pie crust. I lay it outand manipulate it with toohpicks.

OR I go with the old Toliet Paper soaked in a 50/50 white glue water solution. Remember to get plain TP... nothing worse then a "CHARMIN floral moment" showing up on your Armored Killing Machine....
