I just bought the Italeri Demag 1/2track with the 50mm Pak38 gun mounted on it Has anyone built the demag from Italeri? Just curious what the fit was like and how the tracks are on it While I'm at it does anyone have any good info on this variant? Like what units they were issued too The kit has Wermacht markings
I think I read somewhere that only SS units used them I've never seen real good pics of them #:-)

Zod,
I built the 10/5.The overall fit is good. But since the track are link and lengths, take your time and test fit them to get them to come out evenly.Look for photoetch,I think generic demag etch will give enough usable pieces.Unless you want to wait for a kit specific set.

TankCarl,
just a question.. Is this not a complete retooling of their old Demag D7 kit (the 10/4) ? I just wonder, as the old one has not been OOP for so long IIRC.
I have not built one of these yet, as I have not seen them around the shops here yet, unfortunately.

The tracks look pretty good but are a bit of a pain to assemble. I have trouble w/ link-and-length....the never seem to match up right. The hood will leave a gap between it and the firewall, easily disguised if you put the windshield down w/ a tarp over it though. Otherwise I was very happy with it, the fit was good, and nicely detailed.

Hi GZ, the vehicle was issued to SP panzerjager companies of Waffen SS Panzer & Panzergrenadier divisions.

I was going to start a thread in the figures topic to ask this, but I will post here first. Any recommendations for a crew for the Demag? I would prefer figures set up for firing? It is my understanding that all of these particular Demags went to SS units?

Hi
There are a number of crew options.
Warriors make a variety of gun crews that could be adapted easily.
The new Trumpeter and Dragon gun crews for the big morsers etc. may have some figures you could use.
Likewise, some of the figs from the new 37mm gun by DML, or the MG42 crew would work (same figs from what I've read).
If you are a mix and match modeller, the possibilities are endless, I think the sets I've mentioned would be easiest to fit.
Cheers
