Ok trying to get this right. I'm working on a diorama in Western Germany later war during the push to the Rhine.
Was it an M4A2 or A3, rolled or cast, one piece trannie or three piece?
I've looked and looked and couldn't can't get the specifics. I can't get a reference to tie a variant to the division to the time frame.
Thanks.

M4A2s were very very rare in US service. Given the late war theme, I'd say M4A3 with one piece transmission cover.

M4 with the old M3 suspension? One made it all the way to Nurenberg's Zepplin Field in April 1945, before being KO'd for the last time. It was knocked out infront of the grandstand that the Nazi eagle is blown off of in the old war movies. I have a picture saved on my hard drive, but the computer is out beinig repaired, hopefully it is still there when I get it back.
So now you have M4, M4A1, and M4A3 to work with.
