Hey all
What is the varient of the T-34 which has the long barrel but the low turret? Its an early war version and can be seen on the back of the Close Combat 3 cover (very good game incidentally...especially with Real Red mod)
Below is an edited image.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Anthony

It looks like the T-34-76mm Model 1941.

maybe it's a t-34/57.
look at http://www.panzerlexikon.de for further detail.
it's a german page and no direct-links are possible.
follow the navigation: Sowjetunion -> Kampfpanzer -> Scroll to the middle of the page

Try there. The top one choose Zeppo9's Plugin manager, the third one down choose Real Red plugin.
If you wish, you can contact me at sithnazgul(at)hotmail(dot)com I can send you the non-plugin one.
Its bloody awesome...cept the T-34's seem to be hell bent on destroying my tigers. Ive had a T-34/76 or some piece of (relative) junk take out my tiger front on at 300 metres. I went physco at it.
I also had a german guy run under a KV-1, and plant a demo charge, and run out and detonate it..killing the tank. I cheered as it blew up...but my hero was killed a little way down the road by an anti tank gun. That gun died.

There you go. That website's downloads are all up now...so knock yourself out
Thanks for the answers people...still we have two schools of thoughts so Id appriciate a concrete answer

TCL, IIRC a real T-34/76 could destroy a Tiger I head on at 300 meters. I believe it was at about 500 Meters that they lost penetration power. Oh well, sounds like fun, thanks for hte links

Hmmm I didnt know that.
Ok well when T-70's start taking out my Koenigtigers at 300 metres front on, then I can be annoyed
