Hi there

I have been collecting the highly rated new Dragon Panzer III's and am wondering if you think they will do an L version?

I have never built a Dragon kit before but am highly impressed with the details, moulding and quality of the F version i have in my stash.

I would very much like an L with the rivetted armoured gun mantle but have read that the old Tamiya version just does not live up to the new Dragon in terms of accuracy, build quality and mouldings.

Alternatively, do any of their N versions come with the beefed up armour?

If any of you know how Dragon works (it does look to me like they are doing a lot of Panzer III at the moment) do let me know your thoughts.

The possibility of an L is highly likely...they already have all the parts in their various Pz III N kits (minus the barrel and recoil housing) including the hulls and different spaced armor mantlets for the 5.0cm long-barrel. If you really wanted to do an L, you could purchase an Amorscale barrel that includes a resin mantlet and recoil housing for the 5.0cm gun and mate it up to the Pz III N N. Afrika kit and voila! you have a mid-L vs. an early L which is essentially the late J that they've already released as a 3-in-1 kit.

Dragon has already released a Pz.Kpw.III Ausf.L kit under the Cyber Hobby label #6587.

As Bill said, it is very likely they will released one soon under the Dragon label as well.

Cheers,

There is a nice review of the Cyber Hobby kit by Tim Sloan over in the Reviews fourm. Also, I was checking out sales and saw it over on Internet Hobbies /September Clearence Sale for something like $ 36.00 Hope this helps, milvehfan

Thanks for the thoughts and ideas.

As a matter of interest, what is the difference between DML, Dragon and Cyber Hobby? Are they the same company? why so many different brands? I get the difference with Dragon's Ornage Box series and their Smart-kits but cannot work this out.

DML = Dragon Models Limited, just an abbreviation of the company name. Dragon is what we usually call it. So DML=Dragon.

Cyber-hobby.com (or Cyber Hobby) is a side track label used by Dragon to release rare / odd AFV kits under the "White Box" category. The "Orange Box" is their Super Value Pack of re-issued kits with something extras.
