Hello!
I would really like to recreate the tiger 131 when it was captured. What is the best kit to start with?
This is a brief wiki mention of the tank:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_I#Tiger_131

Also, any recommendations on update sets/etc
Thanks so much!

You'd be better off with a DML version if you can get the right one. You may need to make a kitbashed effort to make it happen though.

thanks much for the info... what DML kit would be the right one? I am not shy about kit-bashing

The Cyber Hobby Michael Wittman Tiger (the early one, not the more recent "Wittman's Last Ride" kit), would most nearly match the version in the Tamiya Early Tiger. Unfortunately, that was one of their limited edition kits, now out of production. As another poster remarked yesterday, Dragon has promised an early production Tiger in their regular kit line for years, but we are still waiting, despite the fact that they have already created all the molds necessary to offer one. It all comes down to their marketing department.
The Tamiya kit, dressed up with a set of AFV Club tracks and some basic photoetch, would still look quite good.

I took a quick look at eBay, and that cyber hobby tiger better be made of gold with platinum treds for what people want for it. Yowza!

Which is why you'd be better off beginning from the Tamiya kit and working from there. It's a good basic kit and can be had these days for a very reasonable price.

Yea, I think that's the best bet!
Thanks for the help!

I am new here, but after looking around i see that you are a huge tiger enthusiast! I will take your recommendation to heart.
I was really hoping that dragon made a "smart-kit" of this, as I am itching to try one, and was hoping this would be the project
thanks again!
