Did these exist then? Or were phones installed in selected locations of certain buildings as Post offices,lobbys,etc. Any photos or drawings you could share would be appreciated greatly! 1940 might be too early for the usual corner phone booth. worth a try!

I've been looking through alot of pictures and can't spot any phonebooths in any of them,, can't find any text about it either :/
Here it says they got it around 1940 in America.. so don't know if they had it in France...

I found one using "cabine téléphonique francaise" as the search phrase. Its on this
page I don't know if this
direct link to pic will work. It is labelled 1942 and looks to be indoors maybe in the metro

Yep Pat it is in the Métro, there's a "Forbidden to Jews" sign on this cabin, chilly isn't it?
From what I have been told, the "external" ones didn't exist in France at that time.
