I just recieved a couple of these soldiers and I need some help how to paint them. I know how to paint the uniform but they are loaded witht different types of pockets, pouches and bags and other gear.
What is the color of all this gear? Woodland, digital camo?
Help needed.

Hey Torbjörn
Sadly you've chosen a very difficult camouflage to paint, but it can be done in 1/35th!
Calvin Tan has a guide on his blog which goes through the colours of the gear, the paints needed, and the paint ratios, as well as an SBS on painting the camouflage. the blog is here
My efforts at the camo don't look that good, but if they can be of some use to you they are here
Hope this helps!

Pretty much all the ammo pouches, and other attachments to the modern IBAS or IOTV vests are the same color as the rest of the vest, either woodland, DCU, or ACU pattern camo.

Hi Torbjörn
The Legends Productions figures are all wearing the Army Combat Uniform so you're going to either paint them in the Universal Camouflage Pattern (also known as ACU digital pattern) or if you want to represent them as the latest deployed troops in Afghanistan, MultiCam pattern, both of which are an absolute pain to paint.
As what Gino said, all the modular pouches and other attachments are in the corresponding uniform/vest scheme. All the PALS webbing and other straps will need to be grey, plus the edge trim on the pouches are also grey [See photo]. However if you have the US K9 Handler figure, he is wearing the IOTV so the PALS webbing on the vest will need to be in the same digital pattern [See photo]. If you're going to portray an ACU digital pattern, try using some of Shinsengumi Decals 'Modern US Army Digital ACU Camouflage' Sure as hell beats painting and produces a fairly accurate representation.

I'm wondering if anyone used those decals? I would love to see the pictures... I think cutting, trimming and applying decals to "dress" the figures completely in ACU could be even more trouble than actually painting the pattern.

Hi Mario
I'm currently using the Shinsengumi ACU decals for the HobbyFan Stryker Brigade figures. Haven't had the time to really make any progress but eventually when I do, i'll post some pics up. I find the decals are fairly easy to apply and when used in conjunction with Mr. Mark Setter/Softer really adheres well and conforms to the fabric folds. I could never get an accurate representation of digital patterns in 1/35 so the decals are the best alternative.

Sounds good, I'd love to see the pics. I always thought tailoring the decals would be a pain; each part of the uniform cut and applied... keep us posted on your efforts.

Are the US Army replacing the ACU digital camo with the Multicam and in that case why, or are they going to us them both??

As of now, the Multi-Cam is only being used in A'stan. So they are both in use. Multi-Cam is being used since the ACU pattern doesn't blend in well in A'stan which has more vegitation and darker rocks than other deserts. The decision is still out on whether it will replace ACU.

You can buy the decals at HobbyLink Japan, follow the link to the ACU decal Link
They also have other camouflage patterns, including the USMC MARPAT, Desert and Woodland, as well as the older 3-color 'coffee stain' desert, 6-color 'chocolate chip' desert plus the traditional M81 woodland pattern.
Mike Del Vecchio (redleg12) used some of the ACU decals for the crew on his awesome M1128 MGS Stryker build Link
By the way, which figures do you have from Legend Productions? Soldier at Rest, Driver, Vehicle Gunner, Vehicle Crewman, AT-4 Gunner, K9 Handler or AFV crew?
