If you are comparing yourself to the Chapman Brothers and their Hell diorama then feel free to post your work on a modern art forum. We are not your target audience.

No we're just the targets.... bad art is still bad art----- tasteless art is still tastless art.

LMAO!

Juan.
I dont think anyone is necessarily making fun of Jorge.
He posted a link to his work, which assumes he is open to feedback.

Feedback, and your opinions, is what he recieved.

Just because it's not praise and jobs well done doesn't mean anyones a bully.
My opinion anyway...

Dave:

Quoted Text

We have a word for this in Spanish- payasadas ...

"Payasadas" is what they do and say the clowns to make people laugh and call someone "clown" in my country is a insult.
If you tell someone in Spain you're doing "Payasadas" you are calling him "clown"and thus is an insult.
Jorge also has understood:

Quoted Text

What if ...in this forum ...You can insult people and go unpunished?

We are Spanish and we know what is an insult in Spanish.
I hope you have understood me Dave, I speak very bad English but Spanish very well; 49 years of learning !.
Greetings friend.

JC.

Juan, my translators all translated "payasadas" to mean "antics".
Now I'm sure this could be interpreted as "Clown Antics", I'm also sure it could be, just as easily be interpreted as "Member Anatics" or "Staff Antics" or "Childish Antics" or any other "antics".

My college education is in art, it taught me to distinguish between good art and trash art.. This certainly doesn't fall into my definition of good art or fine art.
As I said and I'll say it again "One man's basura is another man's oro"
One mans trash is another mans gold. This just happens to be my trash, if it's your gold, that's fine with me.
End of story.

The correct translation is in fact 'Clown Antics'.... I stand by that definition 100%.

Another posible word could be 'Pretenciosa' I doubt THAT needs any translation?

Frankly there are enough poseurs in the world - we don't need any wannabe Damien Hirsts littering up the Forums either.

It should be remembered that due to the English having gone to war with just about everybody (most more than once) we have integrated words into our language that do not always have the same meaning as the original. This will likely result in a person taking a joke reply to heart, and even if meant as an insult you have 2 choices;
Ignore it
Or escalate it.
If you choose to escalate it you may win or lose, if you ignore it you can never lose.

Regarding the subject matter I didn't find it that inspiring and having never attempted this myself I do not know if I could do any better. I will say I am sure that a link to your site and work was posted some time ago in this forum, and from memory I did not notice any recent additions. Anyway as long as you enjoy your work that’s all that matters.

I would play among many other things ......: I only thought ominous, for the most part, devours coherent thought.
Similarly, it could be that Don Quixote, Superman, A Medieval Knight or Samuray, Unclean Demon attack.
The metaphysical Jose Ortega Y Gasset, knew very well the times we had to come.
If modelers are adults, we also have to be adult males.

i agree with a very early post that it is hard to create and very easy to criticize but this modern world of internet forums which we now have should not be a field of "great job" and "love it" replies which we don't learn anything from.

this site's members try to give constructive feedback and express their opinions without malice. depicting death in any artform is always a touchy subject.

i don't know if this was the best place to post and seek comments for the provided link but now that you have you have the opportunity to separate the constructive comments from the biased.

personally, as a huge 1/6th collector... with hundreds of figures/vehicles/accessories), i have seen this kind of work before including the enhancement of female breasts. the blooded body parts is not my cup of tea and is morbid. but i like your cowboys and civil war figures.

there are many 1/6th forums that you may consider visiting to see what others are creating and to share your work. debating with the editors/members of an armour website seems like the wrong pursuit. cheers, bd.

PS: for those interested in checking out how advanced these "dolls" are getting and need a new way to spend money check out this link:

www.did.co

this company used to make very average figures but recently they are blowing people away with their newest releases...

yes, the above pic is what they look like out of the box.

Really Jorge, I truly believe that we are not the audience for this. I don't come to Armorama for the metaphysics. There are plenty of art forums around- you should debate this sort of stuff there.

No, there are quite a few female modelers around too. In modelers don't have to be anything- they can be just modelers.

(Also I have to say, as an artist myself, I don't really get what you're trying to say in this post, I think your message is getting lost in translation)

I'm lost... But i'm guessing Babelfish's spanish to english feature is getting a workout... I really dont understand whats being said anymore.

Bruce D, dead on, this is not a place where we should feel obligated to follow the old saying "if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all".
This is a public forum, and as i said earlier, putting work on here most always gives the assumption your open to feedback.
You recieved it.

I completely agree. Once again, a thread has been hijacked by an individual who has caused trouble across the Network.

Nor is this Site the place for peculiar (and incomprehensible) philosophy.

If you can't say anything without Babelfish, keep it simple?

@ Bruce, i'm NOT into the action figures thing whatsoever, but, saying that, the photo you posted is frankly extraordinary.

.......... Be mature.
You are very short.
We must have a culture of life, not hiding things. Without taboos.
What I have done in scale 1 / 10, is an example (an idea) to do it in 1 / 32 scale hard plastic to paste.
(Why make a diorama of the landing of Normandy?)
You are ungrateful and twat.
Sincerely ...... me.

Filosofia barata. Palabras que no significa nada. bla, bla, bla, bla

Castellano is ONLY one of several 'official' languages. In Catalunya, for example they would violently disagree with your 'centrist' philosophy. Comments like that are offensive in the extreme.

Franco is STILL dead...

Speaking as somebody who has translated for large multi-national companies I see nothing wrong at all in the translation that was emitted but only in the way it was received. If you weren´t looking for trouble you wouldn´t have looked any deeper into the comments that YOU, left yourself wide open to by posting on an open forum. Do you expect EVERYBODY to inflate your ego some more by saying how fantastic they are ? Sorry to disappoint you. I did think I could put a 1/35 Chucky attacking Michael Wittman in his turret with an axe, but then again I don´t think I will. YOU mis-understood & were offended but there is no point in me putting all of this to you in Spanish because you will be offended anyway. Calling somebody a twat on an open forum gives no doubt that you are an offensive person. I hope this thread goes dead ,very dead.

Anybody who uses internet translation with 100% trust just make me laugh because the clients that I have realised a long time ago that caballo regalado ,no mires a los dientes ,(never look a gift horse in the mouth).
