Very nice. The clear hull and turret were a bit too gimmick-y for me, so I held off buying one. Have they announced if this will have a lower MSRP, too?

I'm confused. Was there a reason you simply couldn't paint the clear hull?

Agreed, great news! I felt the clear hull was overall gimmicky too.
Jesse: No, you could absolutely paint it if you wanted. I do have an aversion to large pieces of clear plastic because the plastic itself is normally formed with crystal like bonds which make it very fragile and easy to crack.

You could paint it if you wanted but being moulded from clear plastic to be seen through it had no surface texture etc.

Ahh, didn't think about the surface texture issue.
Thanks!

Here is a picture of the box art that I found on Merit Intl, the US importers of AFV Club.
Also a suggested MSRP of $55.00USD

$55.00USD? You can keep it, I do not want it.
In these economic times $55.00 for a T-34 kit? Sorry, I rather get an old Tamiya at a flea market for $8-10 bucks and build that.
They must be crazy, or think we are.

55 $!? Thatīs same in Euros or most likely more here in Europe. Thatīs little bit too pricey to buy in the first place.

I wouldn't pay $55 for it either, but who pays MSRP, anyway? I imagine a street price of $40-45 is more realistic, and I would pay that. If my local shop wants to charge full price, it'll stay on the shelf, and I'll get it somewhere else.
I didn't want to bother with the clear-hulled version (that was a major turn-off, for me), but I really like the looks of this one.

The issue on price could hinge on the accuracy and detailing. The DML kits have some problems with their PE fit and accuracy, so that ups the price of any kit if you want to correct the problem. AFV Club's sIG 33, for example, is far superior to the Dragon or CyberHobby versions, so I'll wait to hear from the T-34 experts before deciding on this one.

The Tamiya kit is garbage if you want an "accurate" kit
It also doesn't come with PE or an interior like this does...
The Dragon kits list at similar price to the AFV Club ones without an interior

I think that price is quite reasonable considering it's got a full interior. How much extra would you be spending to get an aftermarket interior (probably have to get the engine separately too!) on top of the base kit anyways?
