I am currently painting some 1/35 scale US WWII figures for the first time in about 20 years. How do I get the colors to be more realistic/less bright? For instance, the ammo pouches and belts/ harnesses/suspenders etc are Tamiya XF-59 desert yellow which is FAR too bright. Do you do a brownish wash over top of the color or...what?
Do people use Future to coat their figures and use washes or how is it best to go about this? the colors I have used are just to bright and unrealistic.
thanks,
