I came apone this one at a local car show and asked the soldiers standing by it. What's this humvee's Designation? They told me it's the M1116 and they pointed out that the interior is not classified. So here's some photos of the exterior and the new rear armor.
Now guys I realy don't know if this rear armor is all that new or not. This one is shown with out it's heavy armored turret. You can see more photos here:

I'm sorry guys I was also told that that the HMMWV aka:(Humvee) will be phased out, or well replaced by some form of MRAP vehicle. As I taled with the mean at the show that day about it, they said that the new vehicles will be mounted on a buffalo like chassis. To dill with the IED threats. I'll keep looking for info on this.

Not to immediately nitpick this, but from the rear grills, this looks like an M1151. I've never seen a picture of an M1116 without its trademark squared off back.

See old grainy picture from Globalsecurity.org:

Were they soldiers or airmen too? The M1116 was only used by the USAF to my knowledge.

Thanks for sharing the pictures though. Very good walkaround.

Oh and I didn't mention that the unit was from our little

LANG LANG-Louisiana Air National Guard.
So this just may be a M1116.

Thanks for sharing those photos, CCIII.
I noticed the star under the front grille. Is that branch specific or does it designate any US Military vehicle?

It is actually an M1165A1 HMMWV w/B3 Armor. The M1116 has the squared off back as posted above. The M1165 is the 4-door, pickup bed configuration. The rear armored roof and back wall are standard on this version.
