I didn't know if anyone had seen this little gem..........
It looks like the big T continues to milk their kits for evrything they're worth. So what's included? Im guessing a new sprue with the DT MG from the BT kit, concrete fill ins, driver's armored cover, logs, figure(s), Finnish MG mount, and new decals. Ive always liked the Tamiya Stug

Looks like the release date is Nov.

Supposed to be revealed at the Japan Hobby Show in mid October and looks to include everything for a post modification second delivery Ausf.G including the hull side armour, logs, concrete, DshK, stowage box and driver's visor. No zimmerit though which the second delivery Finnish StuGs had ( that's all based on the info released so far which isn't much, so shouldn't be taken as gospel until the actual model is available ).

I like the concept, but won't be thrilled to pay $70 for it.
How about a Finnish T-72 next, Mr. Tam? With a new accurate turret?

Nice to see a slightly offbeat release like this.
There's a Finnish StuG conversion set from Atak for the existing Tamiya kit, but from what I've read it's less than perfect so this could be a great kit of Tamiya-San has got it right.
Be interesting to see the retail price though.

This will always be a stumbling block for me. Price versus what you get in the box. The standard is set by other companies in the same field, yet Tamiya kits give less and cost so much more ... especially here in Sweden.

Hobby Easy has it listed for $30 US - so not too bad. I agree it should be sporting some zimm......

Sorry, but isn't that more of a first delivery, early-production Stug the kit is intended to depict?
- square mantlet
- hubcapped drive sprockets & rubber-tyred return rollers
- early type loaders hatch (opens to front and back)
- no zimmerit
- etc.

Actually you're right, early rumours on the Tamiya Finnish StuG was that it would have the Topfblende which would have made it a '44 delivery with zim, but looking at the photo again it has the early style mantlet but the late '44 modifications with the added on logs, concrete and hull armour. I guess from Tamiya's point of view that makes sense as their existing Stug III G is the early.
Pity though, personally I would have prefered a mid/late with the topfblende, zim, and side opening loaders hatches etc.
