I know many were asking whether this vehicle was returning or not. LuckyModel.com is now showing it as available for ordering in 1/35th scale again.

That's cool! I'm building Italeri's original M978 HEMTT Fueler right now and I see it's made a comeback and is 'in stock' as well.

Not sure what this means exactly, but I'm glad that it may be available again.

I sure wish the HEMTT family would get the Tamiya, Dragon or Trumpeter treatment.
A HEMTT Wrecker in 35th scale would be awesome.

I totally agree with Brent, a 1/35th wrecker would be a great welcome to anyone’s 1/35th stash.

Hi there,
a friend of mine provided Trumpeter with lots of pics of the HEMTT family PLUS OSHKOSH 1/35 scale drawings. Let`s hope they use it for good. Right now I wait for the release of their M1083 FMTV and a FMTV based MRAP.
Cheers
Hans-Hermann
P.S. The China HEMTT contains a fret of PE parts. I think this will also be in the
Italy HEMTT box.

Bob, I built the fueler version using the resin AM sets from Pro-Art from Belguim. Those were wheels and tires, cab and chassis details, and the fuel pumps/hose reels, etc. I made it into a very nice looking truck. I would recommend some PE set if you are going to get that involved.

Hi Jim
I have the wheels sets from both Pro Art and Real Model, just not sure which ones I'll use yet. I also have the Pro Art 's fuel pumps and hoses set for the back. Plus the interior and exterior sets from Eduard so I'll try and do it up right.
cheers;

Not to dash anyone's hopes, but just because LM lists it as 'Available' doesn't mean delivery is just around the corner. I've canceled more than one order from them after waiting a looooooong time for a supposed 'Available' model. Just sayin'.
Edited to say that I just checked LM's site and they are now listing it as 'In Stock". Cool!

Obvious question: Since the Chinese re-box of the Italerie HEMTT kit contains PE and the options to build either the cargo or tanker version, other than the instructions being in Chinese, what is the upside for purchasing the Italerie version...?
Apologies if this has been asked already --- been a long day!
Me, I'm probably going for the Chinese re-box given the PE and options for the spares box... Jim, I know the Pro Art options (I drool over their gun truck conversions with embarrassing regularity) are exquisitely done, but I'm workin' on a budget ovah heah, so I'm tryin' ta squeeze the most out of the kit, capish?
Hope all is well, Jim!
H-H, fingers crossed that those photos eventually become a series of Trumpeter HEMTT-family and Oshkosh releases!!
Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

Just to add some status data:
Modelbau König (Germany) is listing the HEMMT (Italerie) as "availabel soon". From experience this typically means the kit will be in their storehous within this month.

Hallo mmeier,
saw the kit yesterday in my LHS in Bavaria. Perhaps it`s comings a little later in Niedersachsen. I think I will turn it in in a M977 A4.
Cheers

Hi all,
bought yesterday tghe HEMTT kit, but I am a little disappointed. The kit has no changes over the first issue. Interestingly, the Italeri China HEMTT has an extra fret of PE and parts for both Tanker and Cargo version. Perhaps the PE fret will be relesed seperatly. I payed 27$ US for the China model at Luckymodel and 34€ for the European version. I think the Chinese kit is a far better option. Unfortunatly, Italerei`s HEMTT is still the only game in town.
Sad Greetings

Price for me was 29.95€ so a tad cheaper than Hans-Herman but in the same range. Otherwise I agree, it's the same old kit. Eduard has a small etched set (35162) for it out

In seeing that the LuckyModels kit is a Chinese copy and not a real reissue from the Italeri company. I my self hope that Italeri will be willing to reissuse the kit with PE here in the states.
Now if we know about the copyed kits, than you would have to think that Italeri knows as well. An why they haven't jumped on this a made a new tooled kit with PE., to beat out the chinese copys'. Your guess is as good as mine.

Hi Cpt. Caveman,
the inscription on the PE fret reads:" ModelOnline static and dynamic models on the web" and the Italeri label NO. IT0298CN. Doesn`t look like a Chinese copy to me, rather a limited production run for the billion people market China.
Strangely, the kit instructions don`t mention how to install the PE parts.
