Hi
Italeri just re-released it. Lucky Model have it so I guess others will have it soon.

hi Wfan,
i built the italeri M24-chaffee & scratched up a barrel from an old aluminum panther barrel useing the thinner end. i cut off the muzzel break and made one from spare plastic for the M24. it worked out great for me any way. you can see my M24-chaffee in model military international issue 53-september 2010 page 27 top.

None that I'm aware of unfortunately. I used an old incorrect M1 76mm barrel cut down (Can't remember the brand but it was a pure copy of the Italeri one with the museum step in the barrel error and all. The Real Chaffee barrel has a rings located about halfway down the tube which will need to be added and strakes on the sides where it meets the mantlet. It's not an easy job to add the rings.

The only after market maker of this particular barrel is company, or guy named Jordi Rubio, try the Great Models web site I know they carry this product line. With the re-release of this kit, if they don't have it in stock they will soon. Or if your really ambitious you can purchase the Formations update kit for the M-24, its pricy but includes a new upper hull, turret and barrel. Good luck.

There is also a Verlinden update set for the M24 that includes a resin barrel. Don't know about it's accuracy though. RB models releasing one sure is good news though. Now all we need is a new plastic kit of an M24 and we're good to go!
Cheers!
