HI! I'm working on a Dragon Models, Panzer 4 Ausf.D. It has the 7.5 CM Main gun and the extra armor. I'm attempting to learn what i'm doing as this is only my third build. I've already constructed a T34 with the magic tracks, and got them together OK. So i'd like to try tracks that are different, to learn. I am looking at the Friulmodel tracks. They list both 38CM and 40CM tracks for the panzer 4. Which would be proper for the AFV i am working on. If i measured the width of the magic tracks, i could convert it to the proper scale size, but i don't even know how to do that. Can anyone help a new guy out? RONNY.

I'm pretty sure you need ATL-02, the 36cm wide Pz III/IV tracks by Fruil. But the kit comes with the handed magic tracks. I wouldn't spend the $40 or so on the Fruils when the kit supplied tracks would be pretty good. A jig for setting "droop" is also included.
I vote stay with the kit tracks

Not clear which Dragon Panzer IV kit you have, exactly. The standard D model used the narrower track with the taller center guides (the A, B and C models had lower center guide teeth), but Dragon also offers a rebuilt D kit with a long-barreled gun and turret skirts, which were rebuilt with the wider tracks (these were usually set aside for tank schools, but some saw action).
Personally, I'm with Roy--the kit Magic Tracks are quite good in their Panzer IV kits.

HEY. Thank you for taking the time to get back to me on my question guys. Gerald I have the kit with the long barrel and turret skirts. And i'm going to take your guys advice, and stay with the magic tracks. I'm probably looking at this wrong anyway. As i'm so new to modelling, i'm trying to learn new ways of doing things. But learning them and mastering them are quite distinct. I got the magic tracks on the T34/76 alright. (my first kit). After sweating tar balls over it. I didn't have a good idea as to how long the adhesive would give as far as working time even. So this will give me the opportunity to get more comfortable with them. Thanks again. RONNY
