Just ordered Dragon's M4A3(76)W Battle of the Bulge, and in all the reviews I've read, it says the tracks included are for a British tank. Questions: Are there tracks in the kit to do a US vehicle from that period (Dec 44 - Jan 45 - Bastogne/Ardennes) and if not, which is the correct type if I'm forced to buy them aftermarket?

Your OK, the kit has individual links with EEC for both T48 Rubber Chevron (Fine for US) and the rarer T62 (Brit Chevron usually associated with Chrysler M4A4 variants). It also depends on which rlease as the later one has the one piece DS run of T48

Alas, these questions are best asked before you commit your credit card. Dragon has since reissued the M4A3 (76) W Sherman as a Premium Edition kit (#6325) with corrected turret shell, and soft plastic, Dragon Styrene tracks, which, thanks to the four piece molds employed, have superb edge detail, and generally look better than Dragon's old (and aggravating) single link track. Dragon does sell these tracks separately through Cyber Hobby at a very low price. The older kit does include some nice winter infantry figures.
That tank would commonly be seen with the T54E1 steel chevron or T48 rubber chevron tracks.

Thanks guys... at least I can put the correct tracks on, even if they are fiddly. If I fail, I'll get the cyberhobby ones...
I got the kit (including the figures) for a steal so won't complain - £26...

Gerald,

What's wrong with the turret shell in the Battle of Bulge kit?

Pistol port, (i.e. the shell ejection port on the left rear) is insufficiently prominent. The casting surround is built up a bit in the revised kit. Also, the loader's hatch position in the late turret shell is slightly wrong, opening at the wrong angle, and this is corrected in the M4A3 (76) W Premium Edition kit, as well as the "Thunderbolt VII" M4A3E8 kit with the HVSS suspension. The position of the lifting rings on the gun mantlet is also corrected, and there are numerous small enhancements, like finer molding of the skids on the suspension units.

Gerald,

Thank you for the information. I Appreciate it. I didn't know the Battle of the Bulge kit had issues.
