Hi Everyone,
Just started some assembly on my Dragon Wagon from Tamiya (which has been stashed in the pile for a few years now) Looking at the decals, looks like they've yellowed (don't know how I haven't opened the box in years) and look quite thick.
Anyone make an AM set for the DW? Took a look at Archer's site and couldn't seem to find anything.

Also as a side note, I'm scared to bring up that lovely colour...Olive Drab. I will be painting the DW with Tamiya OD, but I would like to lighten it up, because it looks quite dark, not sure what colours to use, I don't do that much Allied stuff, would it just be white to lighten or a combo of something like white or Buff? Thanks everyone!

For "scale" OD I lighten it with XF-60 Dark Yellow rather than white. (White just makes it look like pale green, whereas Dark Yellow gives it that dusty yellow tinge.) I use about 3 parts OD to 1 part Dk Yellow, but I'm not too precise. In fact, I sometimes make several mizes with slightly different proportions and layer them over the model with the airbrush to get some shade variation.

As for yellowed decals, in the past I have taped them to a south-facing window for a week to let the sun bleach the carrier film. Make sure they are wrapped in clear plastic in case you get condensation on the window, or you'll just be gluing odd markings to the glass...
