Hi fellas,
I need a bit of help here. What's the best way to simulate a figure smoking a cigarette in 1/35th? Would it be to use small diameter brass rod? If so, what size diameter would be best to use?
Thanks guys.
Joe.

hmm. I have been toying with this idea as well. One thought I had was to take small diameter brass wire and paint it white. Leave the tip the brass color to mimic the ember. Never tried it, but it sounds good on paper!

Separate a strand of small copper wire and cut it with a very sharp razor knife. I suppose brass wire would work the same but copper is more available. Paint it with thinned paint so the diameter does not get too large.

Hi Joe,
Get some Plastruct # 90850. Its from their line of styrene. Its .010 in diameter. Works great for cigarettes! Its a constant diameter, unlike strectched sprue, and its already white, so no need to paint it, except for a tan colored filter if needed, and a tiny bit of black on the very end.
I originally bought this stuff for doing weld beads, but it works great for so many other things, including the smokes your figures need!
C'mon,....all the cool kids are doing it!

Hi Joe,
Have to agree with Rod, I use Plastruct .010 styrene. Picture below of how it looks.

... Hi Joe. For the scale 1 / 32 ... I have placed in the mouth a cigarette plastic figures. I've introduced puts a needle exposed to fire and putting it in the mouth of the figure. Burrs must be cut with the cutter. Then cut the pin with pliers to get the cigarette is desired length. Then, you have to paint the piece of pin simulating smoking.

Hi Jorge,
Thanks for your idea but I've already gone with Rod's & Andy's suggestion of the .010 Plastruct styrene rod & it has worked a treat! I'm really happy with the results I've achieved.
If you look on another one of my threads that is currently running called "Newbie M35A1 build...the convoy begins" under the Armor/AFV heading you'll see the figures with the smokes. What do you think?
Joe.
