Hi there

I have a quick couple of questions regartding tool clamps. I see there are 2 versions... "Early" and "Late". Can anybody tell me what period the Early cover and when the Late's started?

In the pipeline I have a mid 1942 Pz III J, a late 42/ Early 43 Pz III L Tp, and a 1942 Tiger I Initial for s.pz.abt 501 so want to make sure I pick the right clamps for this era.

Secondly, I am considering attempting to make some tool clamps with some Aber photetch. Does anybody know any good tricks to make this fiddly job easier?

thanks
vM

Hi

Tips for making PE Easier & not in any order

1 Practice Practice and finally Practice
2 Clean the PE Sheet before cutting to aid adhesion
3 Work under a very good light
4 Use a good magnifyer ie OptiVisor
5 Use the correct tools for holding and folding
6 Put a white sheet on the floor in the work area so you can find all the flying bits.
7 Select a good quality glue (CA or Acrylic) cheap CA will not hold very well.
8 Practice some more and finally
9 Don't get paranoid if you don't fit the whole fret full of parts first time.

I hear you Paul on the practice part!

What I really am after is any little tricks. For instance I read a fantastic tip for making aber hinges, where you superglue the two parts to a sheet of glass next to each other, then you can use both hands to roll the hinges around the wire, then when the hinge is complete you just scrape it off the glass, sand off the glue residue and off you go. I have tried it a couple of times and it works a treat.

So just curious if anybody has discovered a slick way of doing tool clamps?
