Hi all
Just as Dale did, I came up with the perfect idea for my Blitz. It's the Italiera Opel Blitz with coal engine, and a 20mm FlaK gun from Tristar. Plus adding a lot from the spare box.
Please do comment.
Jacob

Jacob:

Hey, that's really cool! Maybe there's a global "coal-engine-with-Flak" thing going!

(We'll know this to be truly the case when we see someone post a coal-fired BMW R-75 with sidecar mounting a Flak 38!) LoL!

I like your scheme depicting what I would take to be a ReichsBahn service truck seconded into the defense of Berlin in 1945 - by the Volkssturm, perhaps?

I will toss the same "bomb" at you as I did at another C.E truck build.... It's a Coal-Engine. Where's the COAL! And please don't tell me it's in that box under the fire-wood and stuff...

Comment about those Panzerfaust behind the cab: Un-nerving!

I'm all comfy with the idea of storing stuff there... between the cab and the bed jiggling around whilst you drive along and hit those pot-holes in the road... I do it with my swamp boots in my truck all the time. But those are rubber and serve as squeaky padding... and shovels just clank around and the handles get a little dinged. I'm not sure I would stuff any high-explosive Panzerfaust there!

All up, it's a Nice Build - and inspirational, IMO!

Now if only I could find some good scaled diagrams for a motor-cycle-sized coal-burner...

Cheers! Bob

Very nice! Did you hand paint the patriotic slogan?

Bob: I'm pretty sure these engines could run on wood, too. I had some thoughts about the choice of "fuel" myself, and desided to go for the wood, because as I see it, wood would be easier to get hold on than coal in this last stage of the war. It's in my oppinion more realistic this way, but one can of cause choose for them selfes.
Bill-C: Yes, it's handpainted. I tried making it look a bit childish, if a young Hitler youth or Volksturm had written it.

Excellent Jacob, I like the slogan also. I've seen it in wartime photos of Berlin painted on walls.

Hey Jacob,

Been looking for this build to show up, but I've been looking in the wrong place. Sorry about that

You were right, the similarities between our builds are uncanny bud .
I like this! They grey color really sets a different personality to it. The low side bed is quite attractive too. Might have to do something like that here in the future on another Opel

Great work Jacob.... When are you going to bring out another one?

Well Dale, I just finnished a couple of halftracks + plus a 15 cm. german howitzer. It shouldn't be long before I get some pictures on this forum.
